Sunday 9:00am Family Mass Music Opportunities

Children and adults blend voice and instruments to praise the Lord and enrich our Sunday 9:00am Family Mass with upbeat, child-friendly, hand-clapping hymns.

We rehearse each Sunday morning at 8:30am in the church to prepare for that day’s 9:00am Mass (no need to commit to every Sunday), and we also prepare special liturgies for Grade Level Masses, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Palm Sunday and Easter.

All ages, Grade 1 and older, are welcome! We are always seeking new singers and instrumentalists to join our ranks.

Farewell Fr. Borja!

This past weekend we bid a fond farewell to Fr. Borja Miró Madariaga S.J. Fr. Borja has completed his studies in Moral Theology at Boston College and is returning to Spain for his new assignment teaching at a Jesuit secondary school.

Over this past year, following his ordination to the priesthood last June in Spain, Fr. Borja has celebrated weekday and Sunday Masses, baptisms, and funerals with us, and we have been infinitely blessed by his ministry…

An Invitation to All Students Who Have Made Their First Communion!

Would you like to be an altar server at Collaborative Masses?

Please join us on Wednesday, May 31 at 1:30pm (early release day) at St. John or Tuesday, June 6 at 3:30pm at St. Paul for altar server training. Training will run about 45 minutes; children may be dropped off at the church or caregivers may stay for the session. Children who have trained previously but would like a “refresher” are also welcome!

May Processions at the Family Mass

The month of May is dedicated in a special way to the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will celebrate Mary with May Processions at our 9:00am Family Masses on:

Sunday, May 7 at St. John Church
Sunday, May 14 at St. Paul Church

We invite all children to bring a flower and participate in the procession and crowning at the end of Mass.

Sunday, May 7 is the First Sunday of the Month – Family Mass and Youth Mass are at St. John!

Just a reminder that this Sunday, May 7 is the first Sunday of the month, and that means that the 9:00am Family Mass and the 5:00pm Youth Mass will be celebrated at St. John Church.

Yes, we were at St. John last Sunday too, but that’s because April had three Sundays and we’re at St. John on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of the month.

And yes, it’s a little confusing, but luckily it doesn’t happen too often!

Attention All Volunteers! It is Annual CORI Submission Time!

Each year in the Spring, all staff and volunteers age 18 and older (including Eucharistic ministers and lectors, choir members and musicians, members of councils and commissions, ushers and counters, other Mass volunteers, etc.) must complete an annual Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background screening (except for Religious Education volunteers who complete their screening in the early Fall), as mandated by civil and Archdiocese of Boston authorities.

Staff and volunteers will be available after each Mass this weekend, April 29-30, to assist you in completing your annual CORI form…

May is the Month of Mary – May Crowning at the Family Masses on May 7 and May 14

At the Sunday 9:00am Family Mass at St. John on May 7 and the Sunday 9:00am Family Mass at St. Paul on May 14 we will celebrate Mary by having a May Crowning. We invite all parishioners to bring flowers and participate in a May Procession at the end of Mass.

One child at each Mass will be selected in a drawing to place a floral crown on Mary’s head. Children who have made their First Communion (in 2023 and older) are invited to participate in the drawing. Look for the registration forms and drawing box in the lobby of each church starting the weekend of April 15 and running through April 30. We will draw the names on Monday May 1…

Attention Young Actors – Join the Passion Play!

Seeking Actors/Actresses Grade 2 and older to help “perform” the Passion Play at the 9:00AM Family Mass at St. John on Palm Sunday, April 2.

Attendance at one rehearsal Saturday, April 1st from 9:00AM – 12:00PM in St. John Church is required/mandatory. All players will be assigned a part so advanced registration is required. Confirmation candidates earn 5 hours of community service credit.

Attention Young Singers – Join the Easter Youth Choir!

Children in grades 1-8 are invited to participate in the Easter Youth Choir. High School Assistants are welcome and receive confirmation credit. Adult family members are invited to join as well and will sing with our Family Mass Musicians and the children at the 9:00AM Family Mass at St. John on Easter Sunday April 9.

There are 5 rehearsals: 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, and 4/2 – 11:15am-12:15pm in the St. John lower level Chapel. The first rehearsal is 3/5. Registration closes Sunday 3/12.

No Coffee & Donuts this Sunday, January 15

There will be no Coffee & Donuts after the 9:00am Family Mass at St. John this Sunday, January 15 due to the long holiday weekend.

Coffee & Donuts will be back next Sunday, January 22 after the Family Mass at St. Paul.
