More than a musical, Fiddler on the Roof  is a powerful expression of Jewish tradition, resilience, and the enduring question of how we honor our past while embracing change. Through song, story, and shared experience, this production brings us together to reflect on the values that ground us: family, community, faith, and the strength we find in one another. Under the direction of the multitalented Rachel Humphrey, this joyful and meaningful production embodies TBE’s commitment to connection, creativity, and inclusion.

April 22nd is Earth Day!  Come to Coffee & Donuts after the 9am Family Mass this Sunday, April 19 and join our Collaborative’s Care for Creation Committee  for coffee to learn more about how you can help show your love for planet earth. 

Then visit the Catholic Climate Covenant and Sustainable Wellesley websites for info on upcoming events, tips and other ideas for how you can care for creation in your own home, school and work environments.

Our “Knit Together with Care” group has been gathering regularly to support  one another in their knitting efforts for our Collaborative Baby Shower to benefit  Pregnancy Help Boston – building community and making baby blankets!

If you’d like to join the group, they will gather again next on Saturday, April 18  from 1:30-3:30PM in the Collaborative Boardroom at the St. John Parish Center.

“Faith Rises” – An Easter Reflection by Sr. Colleen Gibson, SSJ

Easter morning the greeting rings out: “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed, Alleluia!” Indeed, nearly two millennia removed, we rest in the certainty of the Resurrection.

Yet, as the sun rises on this Easter Sunday, before rattling off a string of alleluias, we might do well to remember what gripped the disciples that first Easter morning: confusion. Greeted by an empty tomb, they did not know what to believe. As John’s Gospel clearly conveys, they saw and “they did not yet understand.” Had Jesus’ body been taken, or had he risen to glory like he said he would?

A few weeks ago, I spent much of my Monday at Wellesley Middle School.  The sixth graders are doing a unit in Social Studies on world religions.  You may not be surprised to hear that I was on a panel representing Christianity!  Along with a Greek Orthodox priest and a Protestant minister, over the course of four periods, we gave presentations on our Christian denomination, highlighting both unique elements of our traditions as well as the many more beliefs and practices we share in common.  Then the students were given the opportunity to ask questions.  This was by far the most interesting part of the classes.  I found it particularly fascinating as we fielded questions from students who clearly had little knowledge of Christianity outside of this social studies class.  It allowed us Christian leaders to see our faith from the perspective of those who had never before heard the Gospel.
