This Weekend, June 1-2: Our Annual Adult Clothing Collection for St. Francis House

Every year, our Collaborative supports the clothing needs of  St. Francis House as a collective force. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by the many clients who rely on St. Francis House for fresh clothes. Last year, the St. Francis House van required two trips to pick up all the donations from St. John and St. Paul! Items may be dropped off between 9:00am – 5:00pm at the St. John and St. Paul garages this weekend, June 1-2.

Two categories of items are needed…

In Case You Missed It: Inaugural Bell Ringing at St. Paul!

In Case You Missed It: Inaugural Bell Ringing at St. Paul!

On May 18 following the 4:00pm Mass we were overjoyed to hear the beautiful sound of the St. Paul Church bell ringing once again, after so many years of silence!

Here’s a quick video of the celebration in case you missed it –

A formal dedication, recognition, and blessing will take place this fall (stay tuned – more info to come!) but we couldn’t let the bell remain silent until then!

Thank You from Capuchin Mobile Ministries!

Thank You from Capuchin Mobile Ministries!

The Capuchin Franciscans of the Province of St. Mary wish to thank everyone at the St. John -St. Paul Collaborative for their generosity to Capuchin Mobile Ministries in their Lenten Gift of over $33,000.

With grateful hearts, we received the parish gift at the end of April. We also received contacts for potential volunteers who will 1) accompany the friar chaplains on our outreach trips and 2) make sandwiches for the outreach trips. May God richly bless you for your support. We want you to know that your assistance has already borne fruit! Your gift has enabled us to assign more friars to the chaplaincy team…

Thank You for Supporting Pregnancy Help Boston!

Thank You for Supporting Pregnancy Help Boston!

A very big thank you to all parishioners for your generous response to our “Baby Shower” for Pregnancy Help Boston last month.  You donated enough diapers, bottles, pacifiers, baby wash, lotion, Desitin, newborn outfits, bibs, and hooded towels to fill 2 (!) large SUVs to the brim (and then some!). The staff at Pregnancy Help was overwhelmed at the amount of donations — and so very thankful for your generosity.

A special thanks for the hand-knitted items…

Saturday, May 18: An Inaugural “Ringing of the Bell” at St. Paul Church!

We are overjoyed to let you know that, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our parishioners, the final touches have been put on the restoration of the bell and tower at St. Paul Church! The replacement of the bell’s electronic ringing mechanism – the final phase of this long project – was just completed, and the bell is ready to ring again! A formal dedication, recognition, and blessing will take place this fall (stay tuned – more info to come!), but we can’t let the bell remain silent until then!

Please join us on Saturday, May 18 for the inaugural bell-ringing at the conclusion of the 4:00pm Vigil Mass, and an informal celebration on the lawn at St. Paul Church!
