Hope is the light that breaks through the darkness. But, at a time when it does feel like the darkness is winning, it is a discipline to conceive hope…

John’s prologue and the season of Advent reminds us that God’s version of greatness is never in what we’d expect. Christ, The True Light is born in poverty with no influence. Void of any single mark of greatness. The Light That Enlightens had no consequence as far as the world was concerned. The Light Through Which the World Comes to Be, Jesus, born in obscurity. In servility, in that manger, is born The Light That Gives Power to Become Children of God. In weakness we find our greatest strength.

Glory was going on in that manger and nobody saw it.
