Please join us for an interactive book discussion on Stories from the Shadows: Reflections of a Street Doctor, Dr. James O’Connell’s collection of stories and essays written during thirty years of caring for homeless persons in Boston  through the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program (BHCHP), the recipient of this year’s Collaborative Lenten Gift.  The evening will be facilitated by Deirdre Heilbron, R.N., parishioner and nurse with BHCHP,  Sue Brady Hartigan, parishioner and volunteer, and Kelly Meraw, St. John-St. Paul Director of Pastoral Care.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about BHCHP, and to dive deeper into the themes and issues raised by the book.  Deirdre and Sue will share personal experiences working with BHCHP and their clients, and talk about the scope of the impact that BHCHP makes, and Kelly will discuss how this work is an illustration of the synodal church we are invited to be.

It is not necessary to have read the book to benefit from this evening – all are strongly urged to attend! Copies of the book will be available for purchase!
