As we let you know earlier this year, the Archdiocese has lowered the age for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation to 8th grade. In response, we have several exciting updates to our program this year which impact Grades 6-10 and our sacrament preparation program, so please pay careful attention to the information below.
With these changes, it is more important than ever that families register their children for Religious Education as soon as possible. 
Registration extends through June 10. All registrations received after June 10 will incur a $25 late fee per child.
Exciting updates for the 2024-2025 academic year:
For the 2024-2025 year, we will have Confirmation Preparation programs for our 8th, 9th and 10th graders, and all students enrolled in these programs will be scheduled to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of 2025.
- We are revitalizing our Middle School program (Grades 6-7) to include more content and classes to provide a strong foundation for these students in advance of their sacrament preparation year in Grade 8.
- New this summer – a “Sacrament 1 Summer Blast” specifically designed for students with no previous Religious Education who are joining our Sacrament 2 program this Fall to receive First Communion in the Spring of 2025. This is also a great supplementary program for any elementary school students who want to learn about their faith while having fun and enjoying the outdoors! This year’s program will take place on Friday, June 14 from 9:00am – 3:00pm on the St. John campus.
Over the summer we will be building curriculum, finalizing locations, and identifying the frequency, length and schedule of classes for our Middle School and Confirmation Preparation programs. We will provide all of that information including the final program calendar in our August communication.
PLEASE help us by registering before June 10 (via the Religious Ed website) so we have accurate enrollment numbers to plan classes and make proper accommodations for our new programs. Please note that it may not be possible to accommodate late registrations, especially in our three Confirmation Preparation programs, given the number of students we will be assigning to classrooms.
