Dear Parishioners,

Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) supports over 9,000 vulnerable children and individuals in Latin America and the Caribbean. Today I write to you about our home and programs in Haiti, and a recent emergency need that we ask for your support.

Our programs in Haiti are vast, supporting over 3,500 individuals from the capital to the mountains of Kenscoff, where our main campus and home provides services to over 600 children. Of those, 340 children live on campus full time, including 53 with disabilities from the Kay Christine program and over 100 staff members.

Throughout the last few weeks, due to violence in the Kenscoff area, NPH’s main children’s home was compelled to open its doors to accommodate 392 refugees, including 145 children. These individuals and children have lost everything – their homes, belongings, food, and clothing.  To continue aiding, we urgently need funds to purchase sacks of rice, beans, and oil to feed both the refugees and the children who are part of NPH.

We ask those who are able to please make a financial donation towards our $40,000 emergency fund to allow NPH to continue to provide aid to our refugees. To make a donation that will be 100% used towards this relief, please go to nphusa.org/donate and write “Haiti Refugee” in the comment. We ask all to keep NPH Haiti in your thoughts in prayers.

NPH has supported the individuals in Haiti since 1987 through our home, schools, disability assistance, and St. Damien Pediatric Hospital. We remain committed to the individuals in Haiti, as we have through the disasters we’ve endured the last 38 years.  Please reach out to me with questions.

God bless you,
