Spring 2026: First Communion at the St. John-St. Paul Collaborative

In keeping with our new Family Faith Formation model and the guidance of the Archdiocese of Boston, this spring children began receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion with their families at a Sunday Mass – the same way they will receive the sacrament throughout their lives.

During April and May, 65 children in our Family Faith Formation program received their First Holy Communion at our Family Masses. Please keep them and their families in your prayers as they continue to grow in love and faith!

The Celebration of First Holy Communion at Our Parishes

Beginning this year, in keeping with our new Family Faith Formation model and the guidance of the Archdiocese of Boston, children will be receiving their First Holy Communion with their families at a Sunday Mass, the same way they will receive the sacrament throughout their lives. Groups of First Communicants will be receiving the Sacrament at our 9:00am Family Masses on April 26, May 3, May 10, and May 17. Several rows of pews in the center of the church will be reserved for the children and their families each Sunday as we celebrate this joyous occasion together as a parish family!

Our regular 9:00am Mass congregants are encouraged to attend these Family Masses and witness this important moment in the lives of these young children and families.

Wednesday March 18 at 7pm: “An Evening With the Psalms” – Music, Prayer, and Reconciliation at St. John

Centuries of faithful have prayed with the Psalms to wrestle, lament, petition, and give praise to God in every moment of their lives. This evening is an opportunity to pray with various interpretations of exemplary psalms while praying through the music of Duruflé, Palestrina, Byrd, Bruckner and Frisina.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered beginning at 7:45pm.

Fridays in Lent: Stations of the Cross and the Sacrament of Reconciliation following the 9:00am Mass at St. Paul

Deepen your union with Jesus and God’s people in the Lenten practice of Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross fosters communion, teaches humility, strengthens our faith and hope and provides perseverance in suffering.

Restore your friendship with Christ and His Church through the power of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Our celebrants will be available to hear your confessions immediately following daily Mass on Fridays.

First Holy Communion at the Collaborative

Earlier this month, 54 children from our Religious Education program received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

Please keep them in your prayers as they continue on their faith journey.

Watch Monday Evening’s Taizé Prayer and Reconciliation Service

Monday night’s program featured outstanding sacred music, scripture, and poetry that spanned the ages of our Catholic tradition. While these elements were woven together, participants were guided into prayer and contemplation surrounding their personal Lenten journey. After, the Sacrament of Reconciliation was available to all who wished to receive it.

The ensemble included Kelly Meraw and William Endicott, and several parishioners served as readers of sacred scripture and poetry along with Fr. Jim and Sister Colleen. Fr. Bryan, Fr. Gabriel, and Fr. Lesley were also on hand to participate in the service and offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Many parishioners remark that this evening is one they look forward to all year, because the opportunity for prayer, reflection, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation has become an important part of their personal Lenten journey…

Saturday, October 5: Confession Time Change 1:30-3:00pm

This Saturday, October 5, Confessions at St. John will be from 1:30pm – 3:00pm (instead of the regular 1:00-2:30pm) due to a number of scheduling conflicts. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
