Last Saturday at St. Paul we celebrated the annual Veterans Memorial Mass, organized each year by the Wellesley Veterans’ Council as part of Wellesley Wonderful Weekend. The Mass includes a recitation of the names of service members from Wellesley who died in service to our country.

Each spring, Saint John School places American flags on the church lawn for the week leading up to Memorial Day in honor of service members from Wellesley and surrounding towns who gave their lives in service to our country.

This Memorial Day,
we pray for all members of the military,

especially those who died in service to others.
May we honor them by loving and caring for all those
they have left behind.
May they inspire us to live selflessly in our own lives,
as Christ calls us to do.
Amen.
